CRUFTS 2006 PHOTOS

We stayed at a wonderful B&B Atholl Lodge, which I can highly recommend. It was excellent with super friendly people (thanks Ann & Alan!), lovely facilities, brilliant coffee all at a very reasonable rate.

We met some great people also staying at the B&B and despite my horrible mutilation of their languages they still liked us! We made friends from Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Canada & Greece. It was super to learn about their breeds and how they live with their dogs.

Here is Nicky with Karin (Denmark) and Anja (Germany) waiting for the cloak check-in to open on Sunday. I tormented Nicky by continually taking photos of her, hence her annoyed expression in the last photos.....

The NEC is so incredibly massive and the queues at times were quite intense. There are many bus shuttle services to the various parking areas, but we ended up walking most of the time as the queues were so long.

The array of products on sale is mind-boggling. I was very happy to see that we are able to get most of these products in South Africa, but the breed specific range was awesome.

The "puppy bling" as I called it was just amazing. I could not buy any (although I think Ed would look too gorgeous in some of it), so I took some photos.

There were a number of breeds that we don't see in South Africa and it was very nice to see them. My favourite were the Otterhounds and the Italian Spinone.

Due to the anti-docking lobby there were a number of breeds exhibited with full tails. I was quite taken by the standard poodles with their full tails. This is a very emotive issue in the UK.
