Saxony Danes In The News

Our Danes have often been used for television and commercial shoots due to their calm nature and good obedience.

Below follows some examples of their work over the past couple of years:

Product: Vet's Choice Dog Food Performance Brand

Animal Actor: Taine

This is Taine at his very first job. He loved the shoot especially considering he could run at full speed right back to me and then try and jump over the photographer who was lying on the ground to get the correct angle for this great shot.

Great fun was had by all!

Product: Vet's Choice Dog Food Puppy Brand

Animal Actor: Taine

Taine with his little friend, who was not quite so friendly! He bit Taine on his ear during an introduction. Taine did not retaliate, but we thought it would be wise to do the rest of the shoot separately.

Product: ABSA Bank Insurance

Animal Actor: Cash

This was Cash's second job and due to a mix-up with the original dog booked I had to go home and get Cash to the Studio. There was no time for training and we could only bath him in the street outside the studio. The model was petrified of dogs and very nervous of having this huge beast lying on her legs.

Well, not only did Cash do all his obedience commands perfectly, he was extra gentle with his co-star and even followed his cue to close his eyes for the sleeping shot. The shoot was wrapped up in under 5 minutes. What a star!

Product: MNET In-House Promotional

Animal Actor: Hamba

This was Hamba's first job and it was a toughie! A cramped indoor audio shoot with many complicated sequences top be done. But as always Hamba did a sterling job and we were well chuffed with the performance.

Product: Corsa Television Commercial

Animal Actor: Hamba

Another really complicated shoot with green screens galore! But, we got the shoots and the rest is history. Unfortunately I don't have any photographs of that day.

Product: Ford Print Commercial

Animal Actor: Hamba

Quite a simple shoot on the surface, "The dog must get onto a chair". Until I was shown the size of the chair!

Hamba quite happily allowed me to position each foot and although she was not steady she stayed on the chair as long as I asked her to. Then I also had to get here eye-line correct which made balancing quite difficult, but with her strength and determination she got it first time! What a darling girl.

Product: Tetrapak International Commercial

Animal Actor: Ed

Also quite a simple shoot on the surface. Ed merely had to walk along with another person, stop and greet someone and then carry on walking. I was quite happy with this until there was mention made of a cow! Fortunately the cow and dog would be worked separately and digital science would take care of everything afterwards.

Ed performed very well despite all the distractions.
